Yes, a doctor can issue you with a Medical Certificate if deemed suitable. The cost for a same-day certificate via the express service is $19.
Once approved, you can access and download your Medical Certificate from My Certificates on the panel on the left side of your InstantScripts account.
We also email a link with your approved Medical Certificate to the email address linked to your InstantScripts account.
NOTE: If the doctor identifies that additional follow-up or details are necessary, they will call you on your registered mobile number, before issuing a certificate.
Single-day Online Medical Certificates:
Your certificate will only cover the day of submission. Our online Medical Certificates are issued for the same day that it is requested on and can only be issued for a single day. If you need a certificate for tomorrow, you will need to submit a new request tomorrow.
The date of the certificate cannot be edited.
Medical Certificates cannot be backdated.
You must be 18 years or older to be able to request an online, single/same day Online Medical Certificate.
Same day Online medical certificates can be requested for Work, School, University, or Carer's.
Online Medical Certificates are not customisable. The certificate will not include any additional information relating to specific ailments.
In some circumstances one of our doctors may need to call you before your medical certificate is issued. If so, you’ll automatically be placed in our virtual waiting room, and the doctor will call you on your registered mobile number.
You are welcome to book a Telehealth Consultation with one of our doctors to discuss the possibility of a customised certificate. The final decision will be at the discretion of the consulting doctor.
How to request a Same-Day Medical Certificate
Follow these steps to request a medical certificate through InstantScripts:
Log in to your InstantScripts account and navigate to the medical certificate request section.
Complete the online form by providing accurate and detailed information about your symptoms and the reason for requiring the certificate.
Submit your request.
Multi-day Medical Certificates:
For multi-day medical certificates, you will need to book a consultation with one of our Australian-registered doctors.
Our doctors are unable to backdate a Medical Certificate. The issue date on the certificate will be the date of the consultation.
Telehealth consultations allow doctors to issue certificates covering multiple consecutive days or provide notes for missed periods based on their discretion.
The duration of the medical certificate is up to the discretion of the consulting doctor.
